Sat 29 July: Winchfield circular; 8 miles

River WhitewaterA fairly flat walk through farmland and woodland in  Hampshire.  There will be a meal break after about three and a half miles at the Leather Bottle in Mattingley.

The walk, including the meal stop, should take around five and a half  hours. You can download a map and elevation profile here.

You can also look at a map and aerial photograph side by side at the brilliant Where's the path? site, though the route is not marked on that.

Meet at Winchfield station at 1016, or on the 0920 Exeter St David's train from platform 7* at Waterloo, changing at Woking for the 0952 train to Winchfield from platform 5. The Exeter St David's  train can also be boarded at Clapham Junction (0927, platform 9*).

If you are planning to come on this walk, please click on this Doodle poll link to let me know - this will not be taken as a binding commitment, but does help by letting me know roughly how many people to expect (and where to expect them).
