Who are we?

 The PFA is an association open to everyone interested in philosophy.

Our objectives are

• to encourage philosophical debate between professional and non-professional philosophers in a non-technical way.
• to provide a forum for an active exchange of ideas and information.
• to give guidance and information concerning courses as well as relevant literature in philosophy.
• to inspire those interested in philosophy to develop their interest further.

We take an active interest in philosophical education on all levels, including adult education.

The PFA is an independent non-profit organisation. The PFA Committee currently consists of four members: James Girdwood (Jim), one of the great brains behind the original idea of the PFA; Andrew Dodsworth, PFA Secretary and indefatigable philosophical walker; Filiz Peach, PFA Vice-President and something of a philosopher in her own right ; Anja Steinbauer, PFA President and "founding-mother", ardent Chinese philosopher.
