Sat 17 June: Rowlands Castle circular; 9 miles

Racton Monument/Tower/FollyA very gently hilly walk through farmland and woodland in West Sussex (though Rowlands Castle itself is in Hampshire).  There will be a meal break after four miles at the Barley Mow in Walderton.

The walk, including the meal stop, should take around five and a half  hours. You can download a map and elevation profile here.

You can also look at a map and aerial photograph side by side at the brilliant Where's the path? site, though the route is not marked on that.

Meet at Rowlands Castle station at 1021, or on the 0900 Portsmouth Harbour train from platform 12* at Waterloo, changing at Haslemere to the Portsmouth & Southsea train from platform 2 at 0955. The Portsmouth Harbour train can also be boarded at Woking (0925, platform 5*).

For more information about this or any other PFA walk, phone me on 07904 286774, or email me at secretary@pfalondon.org
