Sat 23 September: Benfleet circular; 8 miles

Approaching Hadleigh CastleA fairly flat walk in Essex, partly along Benfleet Creek. There will be a meal break half way at the Crooked Billet in Leigh-on-Sea.

The walk, including the meal stop, should take around five  and a half hours. You can download a map and elevation profile here.

You can also look at a map and aerial photograph side by side at the brilliant Where's the path? site, though the route is not marked on that.

Meet at Benfleet station at 0945, or on the 0902 Shoeburyness train from platform 4* at Fenchurch Street. This train can also be boarded at Limehouse (0906, platform 2) and West Ham (0911).

For more information about this or any other PFA walk, phone me on 07904 286774, or email me at secretary@pfalondon.org
