Sat 1 May: Guildford circular; 7 miles

A hilly walk in Surrey farmland.  We will initially climb up to the ridge of the Hog's Back, then descend to the  Withies Inn, Compton for a lunch stop about half way.  On the return journey we will pass the ruins of St Catherine's Chapel (right) before returning to Guildford along the Wey Navigation.

The walk, including the meal stop, should take around five hours. You can download a map and elevation profile here.

Meet either at the  main entrance of Guildford station at 1025, or on the 0945 Portsmouth & Southsea train from Waterloo.  This train can also be boarded at Clapham Junction (0952) or Woking (1013).

COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS: In keeping with current government guidelines, this walk is restricted to SIX people, so please click on this Doodle poll link to let us know if you are coming.  The poll will be closed when or if the maximum of six people is reached.
