Sat 12 June: North Fambridge to South Woodham Ferrers; 6 miles

Old Trackbed at Stow Maries Halt Nature ReserveA very gently hilly walk through Essex farmland, partly along an old railway line.  We will stop for lunch after about 3 miles at the Prince of Wales in Stow Maries.

The walk, including the lunch stop, should take around four and a half hours. You can download a map and elevation profile here.

Meet at North Fambridge  station at 1030, or on the 0933 Southend Victoria train from platform 13* at Liverpool Street, changing at Wickford to the train to North Fambridge. This train can also be boarded at Stratford (0940).  If travelling by train, buy a cheap day return ticket to North Fambridge, which is the farther station from London.

COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS: Mixing rules have now been relaxed, so up to 30 people can walk together.  This is more than we have ever had on a PFA walk, so I think we are fairly safe to not limit the numbers.  However, I think it is still a good idea to book the pub for lunch, so please click on this Doodle poll link to let us know if you are coming.
