Sat 12 June: Laindon to West Horndon; 8½ miles

A mainly flat walk through  Essex farmland, though there is some woodland and a gently hilly section at the start. There will be a meal break after four and a half miles at the Dog & Partridge in Bulphan.

The walk, including the meal stop, should take around five and a half  hours. You can download a map and elevation profile here.

Meet at Laindon station at 1002, or on the 0930 Shoeburyness train from platform 1* at Fenchurch Street. This train can also be boarded at Limehouse (0934) West Ham (0939) and Barking (0944).   If travelling by train, buy a cheap day return ticket to Laindon, which is the farther station from London.
